The RainPay program is a social enterprise – a business unit in a nonprofit working to achieve a social and environmental mission.

The nonprofit parent organization is the Anacostia Waterfront Trust, which has recently been established by the District’s Federal City Council. The Trust’s core mission is to work closely with the DC government, the National Park Service, the development community and other stakeholders to substantially improve the Anacostia waterfront. A key part of the Trust’s mission is to accelerate the improvement of the Anacostia River’s water quality and RainPay helps in achieving this.
